4 generations

Having fun in her rocking chair

Aubrey's first night in her own crib

4 Generations

Great-Grandpa "Liz" with Aubrey

The last two nights have been both exciting and at the same time tear jerkers for me. Last night Aubrey slept in her own room in her crib for the very first night ever. It all happened because I have had this weird cough at night (I'm thinking it's allergies? I don't really know) and I kept waking her up with it. The last few weeks she has not been sleeping through the night. In fact she has been waking up every 2 hours or so some nights. I was wondering if we were actually waking HER up by coughing and snoring - I won't specify who was causing which one :). So last night after she woke up I just thought maybe this was the night to give it a try. It was so sad but at the same time it is nice to see Aubrey growing up and getting stronger every day. I didn't cry but I did have to just kind of pretend it wasn't happening for a little while. But this morning I woke up at 9:00 and found that Aubrey had slept through the whole night for the first time in a while! I am sitting here listening to her lullabies on the monitor and hoping that she will have a pleasant night's sleep again tonight.

So now you know my emotions from last night but tonight I am sad because I had to say goodbye to my grandparents before they go back to California tomorrow afternoon. They came out to meet Aubrey and I am so glad that they got the chance. It was so wonderful to see my grandparents holding my daughter. We even go to get a picture of 4 generations together - me, my mom, my grandma, and Aubrey. So I am very sad to see them go but am so happy that we got this visit together. They don't have the internet or even a computer for that matter but I'm going to say it anyway... I LOVE YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!!!

Besides that there isn't too much to report. Aubrey is teething like crazy and I am learning to love those teethers that go in the fridge. I am almost done with work, only a few weeks left! And Troy actually got this weekend off! That hasn't happened since... May... so that was a huge surprise and blessing to spend today and get to spend tomorrow with him again!

I hope you are all doing great and enjoying your summer!
